Holy Communion is the most consistent way in which we experience the love of Jesus.  PUMC practices an “open table” which means that all Christians are welcome to receive communion. While the Sacrament is intended for all baptized believers, including children, if you are not baptized, you may partake with the intent of being baptized in the near future. Please let the pastor know of this intent as soon as possible. The pastor will give specific instructions on how you may receive the elements. If you wish to come forward only to receive a blessing you may indicate so by crossing your arms over your chest. Parents who do not wish to have their children partake may also bring them forward for a blessing. PUMC typically celebrates Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month and on other important holy days like Easter and Christmas Eve.

Children of all ages are welcome in worship. While we can allow ourselves to be distracted by young children being young children, we believe this bothers us much more than it bothers God. We seek to involve our children and youth in our worship experiences. Each Sunday includes a children’s time with the pastor after which the children ages 3 years - 6th grade are dismissed for Sunday School. While infants and toddlers are always welcome, we understand that there may be times when parents will want to remove their child from worship. We do not provide nursery care at the current time.  However, there is space through the right-front door of the sanctuary where children can play. The sound from the service is broadcast into this room so that parents may continue to engage in worship.
